Park Cuts.

Saturday, May 5th, 2012

3 small edits from 3 different skateparks around the city. Really hyped for the River st. skatepark to actually open to the public, seems like the ultimate rainy day spot. Featuring skating from Nicky Young, Alex Barron, Tanner Grisbrook, Max Bell, Derrick Stryder, Zack Ferguson, Nolan Waller, and a few other homies. Now go outside.

Tangent Contest Entries.

Saturday, May 5th, 2012

A couple edits I submitted for the Hammer/ Tangent/ Skateloft contest. Its cool watching the more recent stuff again, but looking back on some of the old clips of Max and Blake killing it hypes me up more than anything else to skate, because it reminds me of those old days when we spent every single day in the streets. Classic. Enjoy.

Fuck Rob Ford.

Friday, April 13th, 2012

From the Grid – “Following his declaration of war on graffiti last spring, Rob Ford quickly became a favourite subject of the local aerosol-artist community, including SPUD, the masked, anonymous crusader whose depictions of the mayoral mug have made him something of a spray-paint rock star. This month, his work (which he also does on traditional canvases) is on display at two different art shows.

Can you give me an update on the current state of the mayor’s war on graffiti? It’s been almost a year since he picked up his power hose.

Oh, they’re keeping up with it. Still buffing and getting rid of stuff. As a story it gets boring after a while and the media move on. Especially with a mayor like we have, who is always pulling something or getting involved in some blunder.

Is it fair to say that the mayor’s anti-graffiti crusade has been a rallying cry for the city’s street artists?

It certainly sparked a pushback and it’s produced a lot of great artwork, just based on Rob Ford as a subject and a muse. A lot of people want to make a statement about our current leader, but they don’t have the outlet or they don’t have the balls. I figured, I’m doing my art on the street all the time anyway, so why not focus it on something to make a statement?

NOTHING TO SERIOUS – 2012 SNOWBOARDING

Monday, March 26th, 2012

This winter was the pits! I think we received less than 20 cm of snow in total for the whole season, so any hopes of getting out to shred some streets spots were extinquished quickly. As well as having such a weak winter in the city, the resort we had bought season passes to was garbage all season long. A shitty park setup which had rarely more than 6 features open at a time made for some frustrating days. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not all negative on it, because its better to be out doing something you love than sitting on the couch, but damn was this year a struggle. The one saving grace from this season was our homies in the west coast sending tons of gopro powder footage back east for us to drool over. Anyway, we had big plans for this years video, but not having the conditions or setups needed to make it happen, we ended up making this video – NOTHING TO SERIOUS.  Enjoy.

Just the powder Footage -

Toronto Graffiti: SPUR-GLOBE-EYES.

Thursday, February 2nd, 2012

Hit a bridge spot a few days ago with some of Toronto’s finest, and this is a short edit of the footage I shot. Hyped to get another graffiti video up, and I think that this one shows the process of painting the best of any yet. Here are some photos to go along with the clips from the day – Enjoy!

Slow Motion.

Sunday, January 8th, 2012

Its January 8th and I’m still filming skateboarding. Crazy. Almost everything else around the neighbourhood was wet, so Nicky and I had a little session on the Canadian Tire ledge, which ended up producing these clips. Decided to make this edit a little slower, so you could really get a sense of how good that front crook is. Straight goods. Slow motion for me.

Nicky Young – Water Hazard / Snow Going.

Sunday, January 8th, 2012

Shot this first video a little while ago for a Bitter Bushings / Skate Loft competition, and being the only people who submitted anything, we won. The snow is a little over exposed in a few shots, but you gotta give Nicky mass credit for doing as much as he did in these conditions. Kids hungry. The second video is a short ashbridges session were Nicky gets served up for diving in the shallow end. Making waves on concrete is pretty impressive if you ask me.  Check out the Skate Loft at http://eyskate.com/ey_loft , as well as Bitter bushing at https://www.facebook.com/BitterBushings  . Go out and skate no matter what the weather!
